December 7, 2017

Today: Diminishing clouds, breezy.

Cold air continues to settle into the area through the weekend with a downright wintry feel Sunday. Winds will be brisk keeping wind chills in the 30s.

A cold front will move across the state and bring a better chance for snow late Friday through Saturday.

Thursday: Sunshine and a few clouds, cool.

Tonight: Tonight marks the earliest sunset of the year for the area.

TUESDAY: Fair weather is going to hold but temperatures should tumble back into the 40s. Morning lows will be in the low to mid 20s with afternoon highs only in the 30s. For related traffic news, check out Dr. Gridlock.

Tomorrow (Friday): Clouds dominate through the day and thicken in the afternoon. BRRR! We are tracking a few disturbances which will bring a few showers early Saturday, with drier conditions to follow. It will be a bit on the breezy side with winds out of the NNW around 10-15 miles per hour. Luckily winds will be a little lighter Friday morning, but still a southwesterly breeze up to 6 miles per hour will bring wind chills down to the low teens under mostly clear skies. It's going to be a generally sunny day with lots of sunshine across the area. Cloud cover and even the light wind would keep lows only in the low 20s so have taken the average with the low of 17 as seen in the 8 day.

Before we being digging into the snow chances, let's address the cold for today and Friday.

It's a brisk morning with temperatures in the low 30s and upper 20s. Which might lead to even more accumulations for Sunday and that could lead to some interesting situations for Monday morning. If temperatures for the next 3 days fail to climb higher than 40, it will be the first consecutive 3-day period to do that since January 13, 14, and 15 of 2017.
