Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Receiving Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the latest artist slated to receive the highly coveted star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It's no secret that Dwayne Johnson has become an worldwide success story.

Johnson said on Twitter he was honored to receive the star and had "so many people to thank".

Variety reported Johnson will receive his star in a ceremony December 13 for his global box office success and for using that success to help others. The multi-hyphenate star will be honored in a ceremony on December 13 for his contributions in the motion pictures category. "See everyone there! Tequila on me", Johnson tweeted Wednesday. Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, says in a statement posted on the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce website. His other credits include Central Intelligence, the Fast and the Furious film franchise and Moana. Joe: Retaliation, Walking Tall and Baywatch, among others.

In addition to Jumanji and Rampage, Johnson will also star in the upcoming Disney film, Jungle Cruise, as well as the action-adventure pic, Skyscraper. His movies have made nearly $3 billion at the box office.

The Rock made guest appearances on television shows during most of his early acting career, but The Great One made his first appearance in a major film as The Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns in 2001.

Before The Rock broke into Hollywood, he rose to fame as a WWE superstar during the Attitude Era as the primary rival to Stone Cold Steve Austin.
