One member of the Losers Club, Jack Dylan Grazer's asthmatic hypochondriac Eddie Kaspbrak, has banked a new role off of his breakout performance.

Whether the comics were called Shazam or Captain Marvel, the character always had a friend in Freddy Freeman. The young actor joins Zachary Levi, who was tapped for the title role, and Asher Angel, who will play Billy Batson, the teen who is able to transform into an adult superhero by uttering the phrase "Shazam". The film is being produced by New Line Cinema in conjunction with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.

Shazam! does not have a release date and is eyeing a February start date in Toronto.

David F. Sandberg will direct from Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke's script, with Peter Safran is producing. The film is being developed concurrently with a project focusing on Shazam! villain Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson.

DC's Shazam is continuing to gain momentum on the road to filming, as a major casting has been announced.

Jack Dylan Grazer starred in IT, which was the highest grossing horror film ever, with $694M worldwide.

What do you think of Jack Dylan Grazer joining the cast of Shazam! He also appeared in the CBS series Me, Myself & I and will next be seen in the drama Beautiful Boy with Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
