The organization needs helpers for its "Little Hats, Big Hearts" campaign, which provides homemade red hats to infants born at participating hospitals in February, also known as American Heart Month. They hope it will honor babies, moms and heart healthy lives in a special way. For any questions about Little Hats, Big Hearts in CT, please contact Lisa Neff, Lisa.Neff@heart.org or 203-295-2954.

In collaboration with The Children's Heart Foundation, the program called "Little Hats, Big Hearts aims to promote awareness about heart disease and congenital heart defects".

If you want to take part, head to the website to find out more information on deadlines and where to send your hats.

Since then, the cause has since expanded to more than 40 states and thousands of hats. You can also check out recommended yarn types and sample patterns.

If you're good with a needle and yarn, a call has been made for your services to help raise awareness about congenital heart defects.

Little Hats, Big hearts began in Chicago in 2014. The AHA is also accepting donations http://www.heart.org/littlehatsbighearts to support the program, including yarn, for those who would like to contribute but don't knit or crochet.
