Deals can be hard to grab, but they can also be misleading.

"This year we have hundreds of small businesses from our Marketplace offering great deals on their unique and creative products, making it even easier to find flawless gifts with our Black Friday sale".

If you do plan on kicking back on turkey day with a little online shopping, don't miss TODAY's Ultimate Gift Guide, and be sure to check in with TODAY Shopping for all the best Black Friday deals.

In order to guarantee these prices, "eBay works closely with our sellers to source top-quality and in-demand deals at the best prices available", Jesse Kiefer, Director and General Manager of eBay Deals, explained to Fortune in a statement.

Black Friday is supposed to be a day when consumers are able to find merchandise at rock bottom prices.

If you find a deal, don't jump at the first chance to get it.

The data from Valassis, derived by a Google Consumer Survey, expects 71 percent of Cyber Monday shoppers will be prepping on the previous day, with 45 percent spending two or more hours in research efforts.

Simply put, Black Friday does not have to be as hysterical as it usually is. Getting ready means studying the ads-in print and online-the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Well, if you are thinking of treating yourself to a new tube before Christmas, Black Friday is probably a pretty good time to do it. So you might as well start planning your shopping strategy right now.

But remember, direct comparison shopping isn't always easy. There is no reason to stand in line out in the cold and risk life and limb to get a hold of the last $500 TV - the same deal is probably available somewhere online. Determine if a return is even possible - especially if you are buying online. In some cases, you can even find out whether the products you want are in stock or eligible for a buy online/pick up at the store option that saves you on shipping.

Falling on 24 November, Black Friday - the most popular day in the shopping calendar - marks the start of the festive shopping season for customers, with many also taking advantage of the opportunity for self-gifting, adopting a "one for you, one for me" state of mind.
