A cyclist who got fired from her job for making a rude gesture to the United States President Donald Trump's motorcade raised more than Dollars 70,000 in donations into a crowdfunding site set up.

A few days after the image went viral late last month, Briskman told her employer, government contracting firm Akima LLC, that she was the one who gave the commander-in-chief her middle finger unsheathed, as opposed to letting them find out through another source.

In last one week more than 3,000 donations - from United States dollars 5 to USD 250 - have rolled in, when the GoFundMe campaign was set up on behalf of Juli Briskman.

In a note, which the campaign says is from her, however, Briskman thanks the donors saying " After I was terminated from my job on October, 31, ... "This week we learned that she was sacked from her employer for exercising her first amendment rights".

"Juli Briskman is an inspiration to us all", reads the GoFundMe's description. "You can show your support by donating here".

"I have connected with Juli and she has been officially setup as the beneficiary of this GoFundMe campaign". Porn company xHamster put an open offer on Twitter for her to join their marketing and social media team, following the long tradition of adult entertainment companies trying to catch a ride on pop culture events. "As the campaign beneficiary, she will be able to post updates and comments, so stay tuned!"

Despite losing her job, Ms Briskman said she did not regret the incident, adding "I'd do it again", and has since made the photo her profile and background picture on social media. "So they were calling flipping him off 'obscene.'" she told HuffPost after getting the pink slip.
