Still, Luis Suarez is fully aware of the talent Barcelona lost when Neymar went to PSG.

Teammate Marquinhos, who also plays with the former Barcelona forward at worldwide level, let slip in a press conference this week that Neymar is still "adapting" to his new surroundings.

The Brazil star left Barcelona for the French side in a world-record move after they triggered his €222 million release clause.

Speaking with Cadena Ser in Spain, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos claims he would welcome Neymar with open arms despite his Barcelona past.

The PSG star's father is said to be in talks with Real president Florentino Perez about a future move to Madrid.

However, recent reports have indicated Neymar's relationship with manager Unai Emery is deteriorating, while the former Santos man has reportedly been underwhelmed by the quality of opposition PSG face in Ligue 1, per Sport's Joaquim Piera.

"We told him we didn't want him to leave, for us, but if he wanted to leave, he was free to make the decision he wanted".

A romantic return to Liverpool is on the cards, but so is a lucrative contract with PSG.

Neymar has made 12 appearances for PSG this season, notching 11 goals and providing seven assists, where the French side now sit atop of both the league and Champions League group table.

And they believe that once Ronaldo and Lionel Messi finally hang up their boots, Neymar will be regarded as the best player on the planet.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has made 12 appearances for the Paris club so far this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further nine strikes. "I tried to convince him to stay because I think here's the best place for him, but it's a decision he had to take", he added.
