The Salvation Army of Reading is working to help feed hungry families. Betti said after Thanksgiving, the organization will begin preparing its Christmas food boxes that will go to families needing some extra help during the holidays.

The Salvation Army Medford Citadel Corps will be holding its final day of Christmas Assistance Registration on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m.

The Salvation Army Thrift store at 184 College Ave., which previously housed the social services office, closed September 26 because of rising operational costs and declining sales. We have a concern this year as we serve approximately 250-300 people in the building and in years' past we took out approximately 200 meals to the older adults, handicapped and those who don't have transportation.

The time (of the Thanksgiving Dinner) is different this year.
