CBI sources say the student called Pradyuman to the toilet saying he wanted help with something and the Class 2 student followed since he knew him from piano classes.

The SIT team of the Gurugram Police were the first ones to investigate Pradyuman's killing and had on the day of the incident arrested the school bus conductor nearly asserting him as the main culprit.

The CBI is unlikely to oppose bail for school bus conductor Ashok Kumar, who the agency believes was incorrectly implicated by Gurgaon police in a Class II boy's murder at Ryan International School, sources said.

The CBI said that the accused committed the crime in order to postpone the parents-teachers meeting and the exams.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday interrogated 4 members of the Gurugram Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was probing the case of Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur.

The team, which arrested bus conductor Ashok Kumar and declared him a pedophile, admitted that they made mistakes.

The initial eight seconds of the CCTV footage shows alleged accused - a Class XI student - calling Pradyuman to the washroom.

The CBI had also said that the accused had looked up methods to remove fingerprints from the weapon (a knife) that he meant to use to commit murder, said a Hindustan Times report.

Earlier, the CBI produced the accused, who is a minor, before the JJB and demanded his six-day custody.

The CBI has said that there was no evidence against Kumar so far. Days later, the police arrested a school bus conductor for the murder; he allegedly confessed to killing Pradhyumn. "We want proper investigation and justice", Mamata said.

Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Saturday sought a clarification from the CBI based on an application filed by the accused's father as to why it violated the timings of interrogation of the juvenile delinquent. The 7-year-old's body that was found in a pool of blood with a slit throat, led to an immediate array of investigations.
