Men's soccer seeded No. 7 in NCAA Tournament, gets first round bye

The Seahawks (11-7-0) will host the Presbyterian College Blue Hose (6-8-5) on Thursday, Nov. 16 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Irish drew the No. 12 seed into the 2017 NCAA tournament, and will host the victor of Wisconsin and UIC on Sunday at 6 p.m. (ET) inside Alumni Stadium.

UIC (11-5-3) secured the automatic NCAA bid from the Horizon League for the second straight season after defeating top-seeded Green Bay 2-0 on November 11 in the conference tournament final.

The Mavericks will travel to Miami, Fla., on Thursday, Nov. 16, where they will take on the Florida International Panthers in the NCAA Championship First Round. The game time and ticket information will be announced later on Monday. Tickets are also available at the gate beginning one hour prior to the start of play.

The Mavericks will play FIU on Thursday with No. 6 Duke awaiting the victor on Sunday. This marks Wisconsin's seventh appearance in the tournament and first since 2013. The national quarterfinals will follow on December 1-2 at campus venues.

The Cavaliers will make their 39th appearance overall in the NCAA Tournament in which own a 62-31-5 record.

The Seahawks, who are 11-7-0 on the season, received their second at-large berth in four years after reaching the Colonial Athletic Association championship game on Sunday afternoon.

The field includes nine ACC teams.
