Patriots coach Bill Belichick did it anyway.

To make things worse, Martellus Bennett, who joined the team on Friday, caught his first reception with the team in the 2017 season on his first snap of the game on Sunday. "He knows the system, the environment, the overall energy when you walk into the locker room every day", he said.

Bennett ultimately ended up back with New England after originally signing with the heralded franchise ahead of last season.

"It's not about could you play, it's should you play", Bennett told reporters following Sunday night's game in regards to his shoulder injury. Bennett disputed that the Packers didn't know about his shoulder, posting an Instagram story that detailed his side. When Bill [Belichick] called and said they claimed me, I was like, 'No [expletive] way.' We had a quick conversation. Bennett took some time to think on it, then made a decision to delay his planned shoulder surgery to rejoin the Patriots. I think the group of guys on this team couldn't be a better place for me to, with what I'm going through right now, this situation, it couldn't be a better place for me, all the familiar faces and friends and things like that. "I am enjoying playing here and things like that, so life's good". With Bennett openly toying with retirement, the move is a relatively low-risk one for the Patriots.

As for criticism he has received from Green Bay, Bennett said, "I got criticism from all of my former organizations, so, I mean, f-- it at this point".

In the Patriots' 41-16 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Brady hit Allen for a 11-yard touchdown reception. "I am rubber, and you're glue, and anything you say bounced off me and sticks to you". "He adds a lot". However, the veteran tight end really wanted to play and he did quite well in limited minutes on the field. Most of his yardage came on a 27-yard catch-and-run during the first quarter.

The NFL record is 70, set by Vinny Testaverde.
