The 24-year-old has insisted he is happy in Paris but could be tempted by a move away with a place in Germany's World Cup squad in the balance. However, their interest has never become anything more concrete and Draxler has gone on to represent Wolfsburg and PSG, rather than making a move to the Premier League and L'Equipe report (via the Liverpool Echo) that the Reds could beat them to their man.

Liverpool are reportedly among a group of clubs to have contacted Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential January loan deal for Julian Draxler.

However, it is understood that Liverpool are wanting to bring the German global on loan in January before they consider a permanent move next summer, something which could give them the edge on Arsenal in the race for Draxler's signature.

According to a report in The Sun, Liverpool are ready to ramp up their pursuit of Julian Draxler, having reignited their interest in the Germany global.

The Germany worldwide has fallen down the pecking order in the French capital following the arrival Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr this summer.

Draxler, a 24-year-old German global, only arrived at the Parc des Princes from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in January of this year.

While Draxler won the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue with PSG last season, he'll no doubt have had ambitions of winning much more silverware when he joined, not least of all Ligue 1, which the club missed out on for the first time since 2012. And, there's no dearth of interest to secure his services, with Liverpool and Arsenal set wage a transfer battle for him in January.
