Page Six reported that the Manhattan district attorney is planning to file an indictment against Weinstein for allegedly raping actress Paz de la Huerta twice in 2010.

As you may know, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce announced plans last week to obtain an arrest warrant for Weinstein - but now it seems DA Cy Vance will go straight to a grand jury.

Embattled producer Harvey Weinstein could face criminal charges in NY as early as next week.

The New York Police Department said last Friday that it has a credible rape allegation against the Oscar victor.

Paz de la Huerta has told authorities that Weinstein "wormed his way" in to her apartment and raped her.

She said Weinstein insisted on having a drink in her apartment, where she said he forced himself on her.

"He pushed me on the bed ... and it happened all very suddenly", de la Huerta told Vanity Fair in an interview this month. "He unzipped his trousers and it happened all very suddenly", she said. Tensions between the NYPD and the DA's office have been percolating since 2015, when, according to a Post report, the two law enforcement agencies assigned blame to each other for derailing a 2015 case against Weinstein which was predicated upon allegations brought against the Hollywood heavy hitter by an Italian actress.

Chief Boyce revealed during the conference that subpoenas have been issued, before adding: 'If this person was still in NY and it was recent we would go right away and make the arrest, no doubt. It has, however, explained that the NY police department wanted to continue to collect evidence before we go any further.

Scotland Yard said on Tuesday that an eighth woman had come forward to accuse the 65-year-old of sexual assault.
