Ford launches EcoSport facelift at Rs 731000, set for a strong comeback

The new 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift has been launched in India with prices starting at INR 7.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The all-new Ford EcoSport facelift with its dynamic looks, well-equipped safety features and the improved drivability is the flawless auto for your daily city driving. The side profile is nearly same with subtle changes and a revised alloy wheel design with larger 17-inch alloys.

Managing director and president of Ford India, Anurag Mehrotra said in media, "The all-new EcoSport reinforces our commitment to the Indian market..."

Coming to the features of the new EcoSport, the vehicle will now offer cruise control with all controls on the steering wheel.

The EcoSport now gets a revised face, with a bigger and bolder new grille, adorned by the blue oval which moves to its centre.

All five subcompact SUVs are offered with diesel variants. Besides this, there will be a 5-speed manual gearbox for standard variant. Ford Ecosport is also the only auto in the segment which offers an automatic transmission with a petrol engine. The engine develops 150 Nm of peak torque.

As far as ride & handling is concerned, Ford will update the engine line-up for an improved driving experience, Ford has also improved the NVH levels, the ride height is reduced, suspensions are re-tuned, and an Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The Ford Ecosport now also comes with a leather interior package on the top of the line model.

Safety features like ABS with EBD and dual front airbags are standard across all variants. This unit produces 99 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 205 Nm of torque @ 1,750-3,250 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seats are also better cushioned now and get a new simpler folding mechanism for the rear bench.

The Ford Ecosport also comes with a tyre monitoring system which can tell you the pressure of the tyres in the vehicle. this is a segment first feature and comes only in premium cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan.
