D'Angelo Russell 'likely to miss several games' with knee injury

Nets guard D'Angelo Russell will miss multiple games with a left knee contusion, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Russell was hurt in the Nets 114-106 loss to the Utah Jazz and will undergo further evaluation.

The injury woes couldn't have come at a worse time for the rebuilding Nets, who have daunting matchups with the red-hot Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, and other contending teams on the horizon.

Russell has already missed one game this season due to a knee injury and was not quite at his best in his first two games after returning.

The news is the latest injury blow for the Nets, who lost point guard Jeremy Lin for the season with a ruptured patella tendon in the season opener. The 2015 No. 2 overall pick averaged 15.6 points and 4.8 assists per game and shot 35.2 percent from three-point range. Spencer Dinwiddie (hamstring) is expected to start on Tuesday night sans Russell, so he could be an option in DFS, and there will also be more opportunity for guys like Sean Kilpatrick and Caris LeVert.
