"While our previous Game Update which released early Friday solved several critical needs, unfortunately it also had an adverse effect on server performance", reads the post.

Read Sledgehammer's post in full here, while here's eight things Omri wished he knew before playing Call of Duty: WWII's zombies mode.

"Our objective to return to dedicated servers is our highest priority". One bright side to all of the online problems is that the studio identified the root cause of an issue that disconnected the game from the server, and a fix is available in a patch that came out yesterday.

"As a result, we moved to P2P (listen) servers".

Following last week's update, Sledgehammer Games have revealed that they're working around the clock to bring improvements to Call of Duty: WW2's multiplayer. We've begun to test dedicated servers today in the US. As for PC players, these issues are also present and a Title Update is ready, but Sledgehammer want to get the aforementioned issues sorted before pushing the update live. "We'll watch this test closely, and once we analyze the results we'll look to expand". The space, dubbed the Headquarters, is meant to hold up to 48 players, allowing them to customise load-outs and hang out with one another.

However, the good news is that developers are going to go back dedicated servers soon. "Players can still invite friends, which we encourage everyone to try".

For the time being, fixing Headquarters is low priority for Sledgehammer, and while it will get to fixing the social space, it is now focusing on "the most pressing concerns first".

PC players waiting for their first patch need to take a knee, as Sledgehammer won't be rolling that out until the problems plaguing the other patched console versions have been fixed. But we get it, headquarters is best enjoyed with a thriving, fully populated social community interacting together.

Condrey later went into more detail on reddit, where he confirmed Call of Duty: WW2 accidentally launched with 2XP active, and the double XP event pushed it up to 3XP.
