In an interview with WCCFTech and Andy Wilson, Executive Producer at Hangar 13, Wilson said: "The game renders at 3072×1728 and is then upscaled to 3840×2160, via a full 4K output buffer".

Bungie has been keeping pretty quiet about what kind of enhancements would be coming to Destiny 2 on Xbox One X. With the game's PlayStation partnership, we can understand why the developers weren't very keen to talk about Microsoft's new "most powerful console". We released a PS4 Pro patch for launch a year ago and continued to improve the game over the course of 2017, so the Pro version represents a big upgrade over the original at launch.

A weird issue seems to be surfacing for Xbox One X owners these past days, with the console spontaneously dying and not turning back on by any means. We've seen a lot of questions about whether or not Destiny 2 would scale to meet the potential of new hardware. For Honor was also confirmed to get an Xbox One X update in the future while if you were hoping for Assassin's Creed Rogue to get similar 4K update like the original Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft has told us that now they have no plans for it.

The update will be released on 5th December alongside the first expansion, Curse of Osiris. So, if you're a devout Destiny 2 player, and have upgraded to one of these consoles, you'll soon be able to enjoy the new and improved visuals. According to some of the first reports via Gamespot, Gamestop has just about sold out of the Xbox One X in the first 24 hours since launch. Also, Destiny 2 Guardians that are members of a clan will have the chance to earn double XP next weekend, starting November 17th.
