Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic told reporters Wednesday that he's accepted the apology of teammate Bobby Portis.

Mirotic on Wednesday addressed the media for the first time since the incident and said he wants to keep what happened with Portis on that October 17 post-practice scuffle in the past.

"We are teammates", Mirotic said after Wednesday's practice, per ESPN. "We're going to do what we need to do to make it work".

"Get a couple of really solid hard practices in with them, that's important for those guys right now and we just don't have a lot of practice time with all the games that we're playing that are right on top of each other", said Hoiberg. Mirotic initially refused to accept Portis' apology, but it appears that time has healed that wound.

"The same way I lost my starting lineup in training camp I could win it again, " Mirotic said.

Mirotic along with Zach LaVine, who continues his long rehab from a torn ACL, will workout with the Windy City Bulls over the next week to continue their game conditioning.

Mirotic was at the United Center for Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Since then the two have not spoken, and Mirotic and his camp have even issued an ultimatum to the Bulls that either Portis had to go or Mirotic would be willing to waive his no-trade clause so that he could be traded when he's eligible in mid-January. That was something Mirotic would neither confirm nor deny today as he reiterated that he is simply glad to be back with the team.

"I know he's excited to get back out there on the floor", Hoiberg said. I was always a good teammate, always professional with everybody.

It is encouraging to see the fourth-year forward finally start to come around after there was speculation early on that he would refuse to play on the same team as Portis. If I'm here, it's because I want to support the team. I'm going to support him too.

Mirotic, 26, also declined to comment on whether the length of Portis' eight-game suspension was fair and whether he was upset that management publicized him also having an aggressor's role in the incident. Mirotic was asked about it.
