The Xbox One Fall Update Is Now Available, Helps With Personalization

The first "Fluid Design" interface comes with a redesigned Home page, which is all about simplicity and customisation. All these pins will appear in the Pin block on Home, as well as the Pins flyout in the new Guide! Scroll down and you'll find a series of large, visual panels dedicated to games and friends.

The Game Hub for a particular title now shows more information.

The new Tournaments section in the Multiplayer tab of the Guide provides a quick portal into the official and community tournaments that you've joined.

In addition, Microsoft has overhauled the Community tab with a modern, grid-based layout.


The new software is also smarter about things that happen when you're away from your controller. These might sound like small changes, but together they represent a pretty significant visual overhaul. As one of the biggest changes to the console's operating system since release, the update focuses on delivering a fresh new look, speeding up everyday activities and laying the foundations for the upcoming Xbox One X console. Also new is an enhanced screen-dimming functionality which further reduces screen ghosting.

Choose dark, light, or high-contrast theme option in Settings.

Transfer your games to an external drive so you can connect it to your new console and play immediately.

For those looking to upgrade to a console in the Xbox One family (including Xbox One X), we've refined console setup experience by enabling gamers to seamlessly transition their console settings, games and apps from their existing console through external hard drive back-up.

The Xbox One X will launch with this software when it arrives on November 7.

Broadcasts at 1080p will now happen automatically if your network can support it. From here, you can start and manage broadcasts, access advanced recording options and configure a webcam for use with Mixer. You can even download 4K content for some games on an Xbox One, ready for when the Xbox One X ships.

Right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew are now available. Additionally, for those with multiple consoles in the home, you can now copy games and apps over your home network from one console to another with a new network transfer feature.
