With rumors circulating about Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross remixing John Carpenter's "Halloween Theme - Main Title", waking up this morning to the pure scary goodness that this remix did in fact happen, is making this particular Friday the 13th, our favorite ... probably ever. Alternatively, you can just listen to it on repeat on YouTube every day until actual Halloween. "My friends and I left the theater forever changed".

Reznor and Finch recorded their version of the track in celebration of a collection of a new John Carpenter album entitled Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998, which includes 13 newly-recorded versions of his movie themes realised by Carpenter, his son Cody and godson Daniel Davies. We were damaged and scarred, with the shit genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. This haunting piece of music is one of those that you'll go "ohhhh yeah" whenever you hear it, and was originally composed by John Carpenter, the director of Halloween. "John Carpenter, it's your fault that I turned out the way I did".

"There are many options".

The new version of the Halloween score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross stays pretty true to the original, while adding a new depth and creepiness to it that is distinctly the handy work of Reznor and Ross. "I'm impressed." He's now at work on a new Halloween project, as well. Jamie Lee Curtis will return to the franchise that kicked off her career and she will once again be playing the iconic role of Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers.

The new Halloween film is expected out on October 19, 2018.
