Howard, who took over the production after the sudden departure of directors Philip Lord and Christopher Miller in June, revealed the title in a short video and said filming had wrapped.

Finally, after months of utterly unnecessary secrecy, the Han Solo spin-off movie has a title; "Solo: A Star Wars Story".

Ron Howard confirmed today that the Star Wars-related movie that he's been directing is going to be called Solo: A Star Wars Story.

What's the latest news about the film?

Solo: A Star Wars Story also stars Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Paul Bettany (The Avengers), Woody Harrelson (basically every movie ever made), Thandie Newton (Westworld) and Warwick Davis (Harry Potter).

Yet, besides Howard's social media post, it's been pretty quiet from the folks over at Lucasfilm about the Han Solo prequel.

Alden Ehrenreich is taking over the role of the titular bounty hunter, while Donald Glover will play young Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams in the original trilogy.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on May 25th, 2018.

"Rogue One" secured more than $530 million at the box office domestically with more than $1 billion nationwide, according to numbers from Box Office Mojo.
