With his 2016 release Dangal, Aamir Khan explored the lives of the Commonwealth Games Champion Phogat Sisters and the story of their rise to success on the silver screen.

The makers of the upcoming Bollywood film Secret Superstar have unveiled a new song titled Sexy Baliye featuring superstar Aamir Khan as the hilarious, outrageous and obnoxious Shakti Kumar.

Helmed by Advait Chndan, "Secret Superstar" is a story about Insu (Zaira Wasim) who aspires to be a singer.

The actor said there may be a pay gap, but there is no gender inequality in the film industry in terms of work. "That is what we describe as stardom". The songs "Main Kaun Hoon", "Meri Pyaari Ammi", "Sapne Re" and "I Miss You" provide further insights into the film.

The 52-year-old actor, who has been at the centre of some of Bollywood's biggest money-spinners, said he "strongly believes" in equality but change will happen only if there is a paradigm shift in society's attitude. "Unfortunately, most of the stars in our country are males. There are only two people, who can be valued a little higher - the director and the writer", he said. "So, I decided that I should do it and not get afraid of anything", he added.

In an interview with NDTV, Aamir said, "It's very important for me to trust the director". Fortunately, all my films have been done well, if they don't do well then I am the one who is hit. I strongly feel all the people in the creative team are contributing equally and should be paid equally.

He believes gender is immaterial as long as people come with the required talent. Because as kids, whatever stories we have heard, have seen boys as heroes and saviours.

Produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao under the banner name of Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios, and Akash Chawla, the flick is slated to release on October 19.
