Projection for Tom Brady

Brady says he'll be on the field Sunday to play the New York Jets in a fight for first place in the AFC East.

"We have noticed Tom Brady holds on to the ball a little bit longer than he usually does", said defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who is still searching for his first sack of 2017. One way to do that would be to put pressure on Brady like the Panthers, and every other team this season, did.

With that in mind, defenses have been able to design plays to hit Brady with more frequency.

It might be a good idea to stash Patriots backup Jimmy Garoppolo if you have any type of roster room, however, as old man Brady is "due" to miss a game or two one of these days. As a result, he's dealing with a left shoulder sprain he reportedly aggravated in last week's victory over the Bucs. Since Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Brady has totaled at least 300 passing yards in each game. Brady has never been sacked on more than 6% of his dropbacks in any season, and he's only been sacked on 4.9% of his dropbacks over his 18-year National Football League career.

In addition to Brady, Rob Gronkowski (thigh) and cornerback Eric Rowe (groin) also did not participate in Wednesday's practice, along with tackle Nate Solder (non-injury related). According to ESPN, he's been hit 32 times. He's now been sacked more this season than he was in all 12 games of 2016. "I can't say enough good things about everything he's meant to our offense". "But it's something that we're going to have to keep challenging ourselves". It is worth pointing out, however, that Brady trails - and will continue to face stiff competition from v New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees for all three records. The Patriots have not played well of late.
