Stating that the industries should not be located far from the coastal areas, Modi said, "Ro-ro ferry service will give a big boost to coastal shipping and tourism". PM Modi also said that the "roll-on, roll-off" (Ro-Ro) ferry service is a dream come true. "The foreign exchange reserves of the country have reached 40,000 crore dollars from 30,000 crore dollars", Modi said.

"When I was serving as the chief minister of Gujarat in 2012, I faced hostility from the then Central Government".

The ferry service is a first of sorts.

This is the prime minister's third visit to the poll-bound state in a month.

People from different States had perished and he could not stop himself from rushing to the State after the disaster, he said. "After all reforms and hardcore decisions, the economy of the country is on track and is going in the right direction", Modi said. He said that his government was committed to executing projects stalled for decades.

2- The ferry service distance will reduce the distance between Ghogha and Dahej from 310 kilometres by road to 31 kilometres.

8- In the second phase, light vehicles can also be carried aboard the ferries.

The Election Commission had, on 12 October, announced that polling for the Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh will take place on 9 November, but held back the Gujarat polls schedule, only saying that polling in the western state would be held before December 18. He said that after he took over as the chief minister, he changed the existing policies and the process to make the project possible. We decided that the government will construct terminals, and private agencies will run ferry service. The government also decided that it will bear the cost of dredging. "From this holy land of Kedarnath, I seek the blessings of Bhole Baba and pledge to devote myself fully to realising the dream of a developed India by the time we mark 75 years of freedom in 2022", he added. We also thought that the government will also have a part of profit. He will lay foundation of several projects pertaining to transport, water supply in Vadodara later in the day.
