More than three decades after his first film, She's Gotta Have It was released in 1986, director Spike Lee is bringing the comedy-drama back for Netflix.

Starring newcomer DeWanda Wise as the sassy Nola Darling, the rebooted She's Gotta Have It is set in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of Fort Greene, a community bursting with creativity but also under threat of losing its identity thanks to ongoing gentrification.

With Spike Lee's trademark humour and social insight, this might just be your new favourite show to watch with your other half. But, as she'll remind you, "I'm not a freak, I'm not a sex addict, and I'm damn sure nobody's property". Lee executive-produces and directs all 10 episodes, going all-in for his first episodic venture.

She's Gotta Have It's first season will be released November 23 on Netflix.

Cleo Anthony plays the model, Greer Childs, Lyriq Bent plays the overprotective investment banker, Jamie Overstreet, and Anthony Ramos plays the sneakerhead, Mars Blackmon. The She's Gotta Have It series is on the way, and the full trailer is now online.

Of course, Darling is also surrounded by a stable of friends played by Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne, and Elise Hudson.
