The UFC announced today that a battle of former champions will headline the company's next FOX special as Robbie Lawler, the former welterweight champion, will face Rafael dos Anjos, the former lightweight champion.

The fight against Lawler will give dos Anjos the chance to prove his run at welterweight is no fluke as he tries to put himself into position to fight for the gold next year.

Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on October 20th, and to Fight Club members on October 18th. After being knocked out by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016, he spent a year away from the cage before returning at UFC 214 this past July.

Former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, meanwhile, has seen something of a resurgence since moving up to welterweight.

Who do you think comes out on top in the UFC on Fox 26 main event? He is now 6-1 over his last seven including wins vs. Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald and Johny Hendricks.

The win over Magny was RDA's second win in a row, after he moved up from 155 earlier this year.

Cirkunov, who fights out of Toronto by way of Riga, Latvia, will be looking to avenge a loss to Volkan Oezdemir, which happened on the same night Teixeira lost to Gustafsson. As such, this fight could very well produce the welterweight division's next title challenger.

Still, the night featured two future UFC champions in Woodley and current heavyweight titleholder Stipe Miocic. This news was announced by the UFC on Thursday morning.
