Jimbo Fisher confronts taunting fan after Florida State's loss, apologizes in presser

Jimbo Fisher's club failed once again to get it done today at home against Louisville, losing 31-28 on a late field goal after a turnover. "When they say something to your family, you take up for it". "Because everyone is going to jab at them". The fan reportedly yelled that the team should "get new coaches", which understandably pushed a button with the head coach. Fisher walked over to the stands and yelled back, inviting the fan to "walk ... down here and say it", the Democrat reported. The Seminoles are now 2-4 and must come to grips with the fact that a bowl berth is in serious jeopardy. "Are you going to be a real fan or not?" Just keep supporting because it ain't that. We ain't quitting on you.

Tight end Ryan Izzo, who caught a 7-yard TD pass on the Seminoles' first possession, vowed the team would continue delivering the effort. I understand you're going to get on us, same thing.

"And us coaches, we're trying to do the same thing". "We hope fans continue to be the best fans possible". This year, that team looks to be FSU. In between is a game against Delaware State (1-6). Florida State appeared to be heading in for a game-winning touchdown until James Blackman fumbled on the Louisville 21-yard line, and the Cardinals marched right back down the field to win on Blaton Creque's 34-yard field goal.

The NCAA has said Florida State can do that, but the Seminoles might not need to bother. Five plays later, Louisville widened the lead to 28-14 when Williams galloped 25 yards untouched into the end zone.

Junior wide receiver Nyqwan Murray got FSU back into the game with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

But Blackman's fumble on the ensuing drive flipped the game.

Fisher fell back on a time-honored coaching tactic when asked to explain what happened on the handoff.

"I mean, I understand [the frustration]", Fisher said. "They didn't do it on goal".
