New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a fractured ankle against the Los Angeles Chargers in National Football League on Sunday. Although the true nature of the injury remains uncertain, it does appear significant and potentially season-ending.

This doesn't really come as a surprise as Beckham Jr. suffered a fractured ankle but there is a chance that the 24-year-old's season is over after just five weeks. The 0-5 Giants could be in a position to target Eli Manning's successor in the 2018 draft if they continue on this bad trend.

The injury is a heartbreaking one for the American, who was looking to use a huge season to negotiate a contract that would make him one of the highest paid players in the league. Beckham Jr. returned to full status against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 but re-aggravated the ankle sprain against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

In addition to Beckham and Harris, Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard both suffered ankle injuries that resulted in having to leave the game as well.

Odell wasn't the only Giants wide receiver injured in yesterday's loss, which dropped the team to 0-5 on the season.
