The Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recorded rape convict, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's statements over the forced castration of around 400 Dera Sacha Sauda followers.

Panchkula: A court here today extended the police remand of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's close associate Honeypreet Insan till October 13.

Honeypreet had been evading arrest after Haryana Police mentioned her name in an FIR for inciting violence in Panchkula and adjoining areas on August 25, the day when Gurmeet Singh was convicted for raping two of his followers by the CBI court. But Honeypreet kept this fast for her father (Gurmeet Ram Rahim).

Honeypreet and other Dera leaders were accused of having incited the violence - Honeypreet had been on the run ever since till her arrest.

Sources said that the police, trying to establish a connection between Honeypreet and the violence that took place in Panchkula following Dera chief Ram Rahim's conviction, has a list of around 300 questions that still need to be answered by the Dera chief's controversial adopted daughter.

Earlier, she was remanded to six days in police custody on October 4 during which she was taken to Bathinda by the Haryana Police team.

An arrest warrant was also issued against Ms Honeypreet, and two key Dera functionaries mr Aditya Insan and Mr Pawan Insan.

On August 26, Kumar, the then deputy commissioner of police in Panchkula, was suspended by the Haryana government, a day after at least 35 people died in the district in violence triggered by the self-styled godmans conviction.

The Dera rank and file were given the responsibility to organise and fund the violence.

Singh is now serving a 20-year sentence at Rohtak prison after a Haryana court held him guilty in a rape case.
