Jason Momoa joked that he loved pretending to "rape attractive women" when he play Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.

It sounds like even Jason Momoa is grossed out by his 2011 joke.

Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa has been hit with a backlash after a 2011 video of him appearing to joke about rape resurfaced online.

Other actors, including Momoa'sJustice League co-star Ben Affleck, have been forced to apologize for abusive behavior toward women in the aftermath of the Weinstein scandal.

".As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there's so many things you can do", Momoa said at the time, "like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape attractive women".

Others defended the clip, saying it was old and it was referring to his character in the show.

Actresses Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan are among the high profile actresses who have accused Weinstein of harassment and abuse over the past few decades, and NY police have confirmed that they have reopened a 2004 case against Weinstein.

"Yeah, I'm raping Emillia [Clarke]" he said. I love her, but I'm hurting her and she's crying.

We're pleased to see that he has owned up for his comments and offered an apology, but the comment shouldn't have been made in the first place. "But the good news was I'm not a rapist. I prefer my women to enjoy sex", he said.

Jason, who is now in Australia to film his upcoming movie Aquaman alongside Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard, responded to the backlash with an apology on social media this morning.
