Conor McGregor To Possibly Compete At Wrestlemania

Current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is reportedly in talks with WWE for a one-off appearance at WrestleMania 34, according to a report by SunSport in the United Kingdom. In the UFC 216 headliner on October 7, Ferguson showed his determination and versatility against fellow top-10 talent Kevin Lee, outlasting "The Motown Phenom" and locking up a lovely triangle choke in the third round to win the UFC interim lightweight title.

As far as the potential matchup with Ferguson, Roddy sees a lot of areas where McGregor would have an advantage in that fight but none bigger than if the two lightweights made a decision to stay standing in the center of the Octagon. McGregor lasted 10 rounds in his boxing debut August 27 before the referee stopped the fight, giving Mayweather a TKO victory.

Roddy discussed McGregor's options during a recent appearance on Submission Radio (transcript courtesy of MMA Junkie). Roddy isn't so sure Ferguson could absorb that kind of damage without going down and out for good.

"He's good, obviously. He wouldn't be the interim champion if he wasn't good. And I will put some pain on you, bro".

Although, Tony Ferguson seems like a guy that doesn't care all that much about the potential monetary increase he'll receive from fighting Conor McGregor. "Do you know what I mean?" The one that has lingered for quite some time is a third fight with Nate Diaz, but UFC president Dana White has squashed the notion that a McGregor-Diaz fight is in the works. "But this time it looks like a deal is going to be locked into place". So it will be exciting. "But yeah, without a doubt if he wants to stand and bang with Conor, it'll be lights out fairly quick, I think".

Rowdy is expecting the UFC lightweight champion to return in the first quarter of 2018 and that a lot of fans would prefer to see the trilogy fight with Diaz over McGregor fight Ferguson. I don't think Ferguson is as durable as Diaz, so I think we'll be well able to land the shots. You know, who wouldn't want to see the third fight?

"Whatever happens, I don't know, but I said this already: I would like to see (McGregor-Diaz 3)".

Roddy praised Ferguson as an exciting and aggressive fighter but believes a match-up would result in "El Cucuy" being overwhelmed by McGregor's striking ability. "So either or, either or".

"I think Conor's full of sh*t", he told Ariel Helwani. They don't want to be called liars, and I don't want to make them a liar, so this s-- needs to happen.
