In the fallout to her controversial photo with Donald Trump's severed head, Kathy Griffin lost her coveted New Year's Eve slot on CNN opposite Anderson Cooper. "We've travelled the world together and performed in 30 plus cities with "AC2" and it's all led to this one huge night!"

The Trump family also condemned the photo.

The twosome will ring in 2018 from Times Square on CNN's "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen" on Sunday, December 31.

"For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in". CNN says Cooper will co-host its New Year's Eve celebration teamed with Cohen. "It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate". This will be the 11th year for the special. Most recently, Cohen appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 Monday to dissect the president's recent tweets.

A friend of the 50-year-old CNN anchor for a number of years, Cohen and Cooper are now in the midst of national tour together called "AC2", which has been described as "a night of insider news and gossip from two men who are always at the brink of breaking stories".

Per the comedian, she and Cooper ended their personal friendship after the newsman didn't come to her defense following the fallout.
