As absurd as it may sound - a Texas customer wrote a Facebook post blasting Hobby Lobby for selling raw cotton plants. The woman urged that the commodity has gained at the largely expenditures of black slaves, with the raw cotton that has been used as piece of vase decoration.

The post has amassed more than 200,000 comments and 88,000 reactions in just five days. A little sensitivity goes a long way.

"My great grandparents picked cotton all their life and they were poor white farmers!"

Others said Rider was hypocritical because she presumably uses cotton products like clothing, towels and bedsheets.

"How stupid! My family pic more cotton than you can imagine and we are Caucasians!" He wouldn't be offended by this cotton plant, he would actually see the beauty in the plant.

"The content of the centerpieces was offensive, and I could have handled the situation with more sensitivity", President Randy Lowry wrote in a Facebook post.

A Killeen woman's complaint about a Hobby Lobby decoration has sparked a social media firestorm on the company's Facebook page. "I sincerely apologize for the discomfort, anger or disappointment we caused and solicit your forgiveness".
