Lucasfilm is teaming up with six well-known brands-Christian Louboutin, General Mills, Nissan, Royal Philips, Verizon and VIZIO-for the launch of an extensive global promotional campaign in support of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, opening on December 15.

The premiere episode sees Carboni and Star Wars Rebels voice actor Taylor Gray analyze the mythology behind lightsabers and real-world science.

While there have been quite a few good movies released this year, it's safe to say that many are highly-anticipating the next Star Wars film, which is "The Last Jedi" and is set for a release at the end of the year.

That left current Paramount chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos with two choices: defy the powerful Lucasfilm and Disney machine and make it hard for Abrams to take the movie, or sit on his hands and wait a little longer.

Will Paramount renew the deal that they had with Abrams? "How to enforce them is as complicated as the deals themselves".

Abrams' last movie for Paramount was 2013's "Star Trek Into Darkness", which earned over $460 million worldwide.

When the Trevorrow-directed "Jurassic World" grossed over $600 million in the box office, Lucasfilm officially announced Trevorrow as the director of "Star Wars: Episode IX" on August 15, 2015. The resulting deal (which runs through to summer 2018) is now up in the air because Abrams is booked to direct Episode IX until 2019, something that has apparently irked current Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos.

Abrams always called directing "The Force Awakens" a once in a lifetime job, and because of that, then head of Paramount Brad Grey was gracious enough to let Abrams jump over to Disney/Lucasfilm to make the movie. As a director, three films: Two Star Trek movies and Super 8, which grossed $260 million worldwide in 2011.

"You might not put him in the pantheon (alongside Spielberg), but he's a writer, producer and director". You can't be an asshole and say no.
