Spain is Latest Country to Expel North Korean Ambassador

United States Air Force and Marine Corps aircraft joined Japan Air Self-Defense Force and Republic of Korea Air Force aircraft in a sequenced bilateral show of force over the Korean Peninsula September 17, in response to North Korea's launch of an intermediate range ballistic missile (IRBM) over Japan on September 14.

The only country to have completely ended diplomatic relations with Pyongyang in recent years was Botswana, which severed ties after a United Nations investigation revealed extensive and widespread human rights abuses in North Korea.

In addition, the Philippines, Pyongyang's fifth-biggest trade partner, said that it would cease trade with North Korea.

SEOUL - A former National Intelligence Service (NIS) official has been arrested for running a cyberteam tasked with orchestrating a smear campaign against the liberal candidate in the runup to the 2012 presidential election, Seoul prosecutors said Tuesday. Peru's government announced it was giving North Korean ambassador Kim Hak Chol five days to leave the country in retaliation over North Korea's sixth nuclear test.

But the two recent missile launches over Japan have forced the United States to reconsider its policy, a senior defence official told CNN.

He said the USA will "have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea" if Kim continues to cross the red line.

Trump is also using his four days in NY to voice his concern about Venezuela, telling Latin American leaders on Monday night the United States would take additional steps if Caracas moved toward authoritarian rule.

US Treasury Secretary Rex Tillerson told reporters that they will have plenty of opportunity to talk about that with many, many of worldwide leaders.


"Based on North Korea's demonstrated science and technological capabilities - coupled with the priority Pyongyang places on missile programs - North Korea probably is capable of producing UDMH domestically", Timothy Barrett, a spokesman for the director of national intelligence, told the Times.

Asked about Trump's warning last month that the North Korean threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury", Ms Haley said: "It was not an empty threat".

Prices in North Korean markets have remained relatively stable and continue to be a reliable source of food, according to defectors who closely monitor North Korean market prices and activity.

However, the rise of privately produced food sold in North Korean markets has slowly overtaken the PDS as the primary distributor of food, a factor which experts say official United Nations reports overlook.

"Fuel shortages are not a new problem, and North Korean farmers are quite resourceful", Lewis said.
