Rain, much cooler weather moving in this week

Temperatures to start the day will be in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Wednesday's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 57 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Heat index is at 102 degrees with East Northeast winds of 10-15 miles per hour.

Friday - Sunny with a high around 70. There will be a light breeze out of the north under 5 miles per hour.

Thursday's forecast looks almost identical to Wednesday's with a high again near 70 and a low around 44.

This week's temperatures are running slightly below the average September daily high of 78 and daily low of 46. There will still be a chance for a few showers as Maria churns off the coast.


Tonight: Occasional rain, with a low near 60.

Friday night - Mostly clear with a low in the mid- to upper 40s.

That will be followed by a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7 p.m., the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 53, according to the weather service. South wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers.


A chance for rain returns on Saturday night and continues through Monday.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

Saturday - Sunny with a high around 70.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures develop with a pleasant high of 72 degrees.
