Shortly before his address, the Pentagon announced that the show of force underscored "the seriousness" with which the United States took North Korea's "reckless" behaviour, calling the country's weapons programme a "grave threat".

Mr Kim called Mr Trump "mentally deranged" and vowed to make him pay dearly for threatening to destroy his country hours after the U.S. imposed fresh sanctions over Pyongyang's weapons programmes.

Earlier this month, the U.N. Security Council passed harsh sanctions on Kim's small nation, as it continued to fire threatening missile tests and claim the expansion of its nuclear arsenal.

Pyongyang is reportedly thinking to go for an option of testing another Hydrogen bomb.

President Trump, Kim Jong Un Exchange Insults Following Trump's Speech At UN

North Korea's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, now in NY for a United Nations meeting, warned on Thursday that Kim could consider a hydrogen bomb test of an unprecedented scale over the Pacific.

Their actions come after President Trump threatened to pull out of the iran nuclear deal, something critics say could hurt potential talks with North Korea.

It took a few days, but now Kim has a response for Trump's nickname, "rocket man".

"In response to Jong-un, Trump tweeted", Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!"

"It is the toughest and most comprehensive yet across whole sectors of the North Korean economy and these sanctions must be given time to work". His foreign minister, asked on a visit to NY to attend the UN General Assembly what the countermeasure would be, said his country may test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean.

Ri was to give a speech at the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, according to Yonhap news agency.

But Japan's Kyodo News earlier reported that a 3.4 magnitude natural disaster was detected at a depth of zero kilometers near the North's nuke test site, citing China's quake agency.

CHANG: And a final jab - Kim said Trump was a dotard.

The flight follows a week of heightened rhetoric from Washington and Pyongyang, with Trump and Kim Jong Un trading insults.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump has sanctioned a new executive order wherein financial economy of North Korea will be greatly impacted. "I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U".
