Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he does not view the Europa League as an avenue by which to qualify for the Champions League.

Cologne are now bottom of the Bundesliga after three rounds of the season. I think they need to get that out of their system because Arsenal are capable of doing well in the Premier League and in Europe this season.

The Gunners defeated Bournemouth 3-0 in the Premier League last weekend and should be considered favorites to earn all three points vs Koln as well. The Gunners are set to play European football on a Thursday and Arsene Wenger has given his team news ahead of the clash.

Seven first team stars are likely to miss the Europa League opener.

Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Laurent Koscielny, Granit Xhaka, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck all sat out training today suggesting they'll be rested ahead of Sunday's trip to Chelsea.

According to The Independent, the players were excused from training on Wednesday morning as they will not be involved on Thursday.

Arsenal travel to face reigning Premier League champions Chelsea on Super Sunday so a much-changed side was always anticipated.

Manchester City were thought to be keen on signing Sanchez before the transfer window closed, but Arsenal refused to sell their talisman and instead kept hold of the 28-year-old.

David Ospina should also line up in goal, while Theo Walcott should also be included in the starting XI. Few youngsters involved in matchday squad too.
