Museums across the country will have free admission or deals on Saturday as part of Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day Live.

"We are all about access for everyone to cultural gems everywhere and Museum Day Live makes that available", said Amy Wilkins, Chief Revenue Officer at Smithsonian Media. Educators and parents will be able to utilize the Smithsonian material based lesson plans to enhance the Museum Day Live! experience.

The Harness Racing Museum, at 240 Main St., Goshen, was built in the Tudor-style architecture of the original 1913 stable, in which the museum is partially housed.

Visitors experience interactive exhibits, informative films, and a timeline of the sport's history from its late 18th-century NY roots through today.

First, find a participating museum here. The ticket is good for two people.

For more information call the museum at 294-6330.

Other museums across the state offering free admission on September 23 include the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, Lyman Museum in Hilo, Baldwin Home in Lahaina, and Grove Farm Homestead and Sugar Plantation Museum on Kauai.
