As yet another evolutionary device rather than the design revolution some cash-strapped iFans may have expected, the iPhone 8 is unsurprisingly overshadowed by the much sleeker X, despite the latter's delays and availability concerns.

Will you buy the newly announced $1000 iPhone X? There has been weak iPhone 8 demand and after a full week of pre-orders, most models will still ship immediately.

Hardcore Apple fans are going to wait for the iPhone X, of course.

We will be making our annual pilgrimage to a handful of Apple retail stores to count lines and more importantly, survey people regarding their intended purchases. Some experts believe that the iPhone 8 is not enough of an upgrade from the iPhone 7.

Also, for the battery, iFixit says the iPhone 8 battery "pumps out an underwhelming 6.96 Wh (1821 mAh at 3.82 V)".

iFixit found that the iPhone 8 features the same speaker holes found in the iPhone 7, which reportedly aren't as loud as Apple claims. Here's looking into the India pricing, availability and other details of the three new iPhones.

Though both devices carry a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture, the iPhone 8 utilizes a larger sensor and therefore lets in more light, improves colour and decreases noise.

The big-screen variant of iPhone 8, the iPhone 8 Plus too comes in the same storage variants - 64GB and 256GB.

The iPhone X, meanwhile, has disposed with the home button; integrated FaceID facial recognition, with the face data not being sent to a server and instead being stored on a chip; a Super Retina and HDR 10 display with Dolby Vision, True Tone, and 3D Touch support; animated emojis; dual 12-megapixel cameras with f 1.8 and 2.4 apertures; and a quad-LED flash.

Meanwhile, Apple touted the iPhone X-which sells for $999 to $1,149 in the USA -as the smartphone of the future, leaving other models in limbo.

Other small changes include a new Lightning port bracket which seemingly reinforces the port, and seemingly more adhesive strips and black tape than they were expecting, holding things down and together.

"It's normal. It's not all that different from the 7", said Duan Mengliang, a 25-year-old hotel worker. The iPhone 8 will only cater to those who want a new version but do not want to pay a hefty $999 for the iPhone X, said iTWire.com's technology editor Alex Zaharov-Reutt, who did not line up for the launch. "I think it'll be more lively with more people with the iPhone X", said Ray Yokoyama, after buying an iPhone 8 in Tokyo.
