Jean-Claude Van Damme's son was arrested Saturday after allegedly holding his roommate at knifepoint, according to TMZ.

21-year-old Nicholas was arrested on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona in the United States.

About 20 minutes after police spoke with Van Varenberg and his roommate, the roommate reportedly ran down the stairs of the apartment building.

They found a trail of blood leading to his flat and after speaking to both him and a room mate, discovered Nicholas had injuries to his hand.

Van Varenberg didn't have a lawyer at his initial court appearance, and it's unclear if he has one yet with a September 20 preliminary hearing looming.

"He advised Nicholas held him at knife point and refused to allow him to leave the apartment". He told officers Nicholas was pissed he'd opened the door for them. Police returned and found the knife in question, as well as marijuana.

Van Varenberg, who shares his father's real surname, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful imprisonment, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Varenberg's bail was set at $10,000, though it is unclear how much he posted for his release.

Nicholas is the Bloodsport star's only son with ex-wife Darcy LaPier.
