James Corden kind of regrets kissing Sean Spicer at the Emmys

Yesterday, former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer - who spent the first six months of this year blatantly lying to the American public at the behest of an incompetent, misogynistic, and racist president - made a guest appearance at the Emmys.

Which is why I was shocked when I saw this headline: "Angry Viewers Are In No Mood To Laugh At Sean Spicer's Emmy Jokes".

The idea to bring Spicer to the Emmys was reportedly host Stephen Colbert's, and given his track record as Trump's mouthpiece (the non-Twitter variety), has been widely criticised as the normalisation of fascism.

Spicer went on to declare: 'This will be the largest audience to witness the Emmys, period, both in person and around the world, ' - in reference to his statement about January's presidential inauguration.

Spicer would repeatedly clash with journalists until he resigned after President Trump appointed Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. "I'm kidding, of course, but Sean Spicer actually did make a cameo at last night's ceremony".

"I certainly hope not", Spicer said after a brief pause.

James Corden regrets ever planting a wet one on Sean Spicer's cheek at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

During an appearance last week on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" late-night show, he basically admitted that he lied for the president, saying it was his job to say whatever Trump told him to say.

During his tenure as Press Secretary, Spicer became renowned for frequent gaffes, and was forced to apologise after claiming that Hitler did not use chemical weapons during the Holocaust.

To say she was surprised is a bit of an understatement.

"He showed he was willing to humiliate himself on a very big stage", said Karl of Spicer's performance.

Spicer, in a late-night show following his resignation, said that interaction in the briefing room was not "probably the best start". But do you know who is really upset?

What pariah? Sean Spicer getting mobbed in #Emmys lobby.

"I can promise you this: That kiss was a one-time thing", he insisted.
