As fans of Swift know, the song spoke of how she had left a scarf at her boyfriend's sister's house and because Gyllenhaal was rumored to be the man she was dating at the time the song was written, Maggie was rumored to be the sister in question.

Jake Gyllenhaal expertly shuts down a Taylor Swift question from Jeff Bauman, the Boston Marathon survivor he portrayed on film. In the Facebook Live session, Bauman asks Gyllenhaal if he thinks his ex-girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, would write a song if the actor suffered a calamity similar to Bauman's. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Maggie Gyllenhaal said she was "in the dark about about the scarf" that is referenced in Taylor Swift's "All Too Well". Bauman questioned. Gyllenhaal clarified the question by countering, "For me, or about it?"

"If you lost your legs in real life, do you think Taylor Swift would write a song about it?" asked Bauman.

While the whirlwind romance happened almost seven years ago, fans just can't seem to let things go, even asking Jake's sister Maggie about that infamous scarf just last week.

"For you", Bauman says.

Jake previously shot down questions about Taylor and his personal life earlier this year during an interview with The Guardian, when he cut the question about their history short by saying, "I would really love to not talk about my personal life". Several of her hit singles were thought to have been inspired by the fleeting relationship including "All Too Well" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". As for whether it's gathering dust in a cupboard somewhere, she said: "It's totally possible".
