Eric Scott, 37, considered to be armed and risky, escaped custody about three miles south of Ceresco on Highway 77.

Dawn-Renee Smith, spokeswoman for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, said Scott was picked up at the State Penitentiary in Lincoln on Wednesday and was in Dodge County's custody when the escape occurred. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and khaki prison trousers. He later left that vehicle at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha.

During the escape, Scott stole the deputy's auto.

Court records show Scott faces three felony child sex assault charges and two other felonies in Dodge County.

The deputy is being treated at Fremont Health Medical Center as a precautionary measure.

Scott was serving a two- to four-year sentence for his fifth DUI offense, and was due to be released October 21, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services.

Scott was taken to the Pottawattamie County Jail on charges in Nebraska of escape and false imprisonment. If Scott is convicted on all counts and given the maximum sentences, Glass said the inmate could spend the rest of his life in prison. If you see him, call 911 immediately.

Scott is serving 2-4 years for fifth-offense DUI. The caller reported they thought the man was the same one that escaped from Nebraska law enforcement on Wednesday.
