Angelina Jolie has opened up about working with her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

"I was able to say, you have a job, get over here, help me with this..."

"I have had my ups and downs".

Jolie proudly posed with children Maddox, 16; Pax, 13; Zahara, 12; Shiloh, 11; Vivienne, 9, and Knox, 9, and activist Un, plus the film's stars Kimhak Mun and Sareum Srey Moch on the red carpet.

"They were laughing at both of us [Jolie and activist Loung Ung] because they're used to seeing us at home and we hang out in our pyjamas and make breakfast. Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more", she said.

Speaking about how the movie came about, Jolie said she and Loung penned the script years ago and they finally decided to make the movie keeping in mind Maddox's role in the movie.

Jolie put her career on hold to help them through the past year, and though she's ready to take on new projects, including "Maleficent 2", her children's well-being remains top priority.

Angelina Jolie and her kids have been making frequent public appearances at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival, and on Monday everyone came out to attend the premiere of Jolie's new film as director, First They Killed My Father. "It's very, very hard, a very painful situation, and I just want my family healthy", she told the publication. Everything was just stopped.

"I think they're itching to get out in the world again", Jolie revealed.

"It took me a few months to realize that I was really going to have to do it". I hear him talking in full, fluent French, and they'll tell me he's reached a certain level in his German, and I have no idea. "That there was going to have to be another base regardless of everything", she told the NYT. "That there was going to have to be a home".

'If I've done nothing i their life but be their mom, I'm good, ' she added.
