She won for her work on the Netflix show Master of None. "Turns out I was wrong". A Hollywood Reporter profile of Moss published earlier this year noted that her "propensity for profanity can be jarring at times".

On a night that rewarded ethnic diversity, Sterling K. Brown picked up lead actor in a drama for "This is Us" while Aziz Ansari and Lena Waithe, Riz Ahmed and Donald Glover also made it to the podium.
