British Airways Plane Evacuated In Paris For Security Reasons

"We were then told the aircraft had to move to another part of the airport".

At around 11.10am, a British Airways spokeswoman confirmed the flight had taken off.

'That's when we noticed police and fire vehicles quickly surrounded the plane and dozens of armed officers and firefighters got out.

Passengers were led off the plane and individually searched by armed officers, with luggage in the hold searched by dogs.

As reported by the Metro, the British Airways plane was immediately surrounded by Paris police and fire vehicles due to the #security threat and according to a witness, James Anderson, all passengers were then searched by armed police.

'They need to make sure everybody and everything has been searched.

But security officers and emergency services soon surrounded the plane as they were ordered off the plane at around 7.45am.

Sniffer dogs have also begun searching luggage. All passengers were later given the all clear and British Airways has informed them they will be able to travel on a replacement flight later on Sunday.

Following the security threat, a British Airways spokesman said the safety and security of customers and crew is "always top priority".

The UK terror threat level was raised from
severe to critical on Friday following the terror attack at Parsons Green Tube station.

'Additional security checks are being carried out as a precaution.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Dover on Saturday in connection with the attack.

Armed police have been on duty across the United Kingdom following the bombing, which left 29 people injured.
