Filming for the Marvel Comics superhero film resumed 48 hours after Joi (SJ) Harris died on the set in downtown Vancouver on Monday.

Witnesses told the Vancouver Sun that Harris lost control of her bike during a stunt, jumped a curb and crashed through a plate-glass window at Shaw Tower.

According to her website, Harris, was the first African American woman to actively compete in American Motorcyclist Association road racing events. She was hired to play the stunt role for Beetz's character, Domino, just five days before her tragic death.

As additional details began to emerge, some of Hollywood's leading stunt coordinators called Deadpool 2's set-up into question on the belief that Harris, a seasoned NY biker and film rookie, shouldn't have been left in control of a 900cc motorcycle in the first place. She's thought to be the double for Beetz's character, Domino.

In what should have been a routine week for Fox and David Leitch's action sequel, Harris was killed when a motorcycle stunt went awry. I can't say it would have saved her life.

Star and producer Ryan Reynolds himself also tweeted a statement, saying in part he and others were "heartbroken, shocked and devastated...but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loves ones must feel in this moment".

'My heart and my love goes out to her and them all. "The cast and crew and send them peace, help, and their most honest condolences". Harris, who had not been wearing a helmet, reportedly died at the scene and the production was shut down. On-set stunts are certainly unsafe work, and those that perform them are well-trained professionals aware of the risks that come with doing so, but safety should always take the utmost priority.
