The world of Twin Peaks is a twisted one, with its idyllic surroundings routinely punctured by acts of shocking violence.

In a report from the Police Department of Spokane, Washington, officers responded to a call on 5:40 PM Wednesday for an assault.

Spokane police arrested Jeremy R Lindholm, 41, as he fled the 420 Lingerie boutique with a baseball bat in his hand in Spokane, Washington.

According to court documents obtained by local news station KREM, Lindholm told police he had been arguing with his girlfriend of five years before she headed out to buy him a drink.

Jeremy allegedly became angry about how long she was taking and went to find her while armed with a baseball bat. He "quickly gave up" when officers confronted him in the alley, according to the release, and was then taken into custody.

The attack is being described as an "extremely violent assault".

After the first testimonies and items donated by the surveillance video, the actor would violently beat his girlfriend a dozen times, on the face and body using his bat.

After watching the footage, officers believed that the victim was in danger. He allegedly said he wanted to kill her too. The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Lindholm marked his appearance on Twin Peaks with a post on social media showing him posed in front of a television screen showing his brief scene alongside actor Harry Dean Stanton, who plays Carl Rodd.

The actor's facing multiple charges along with attempted second-degree murder, including second-degree assault. He's being held at the Spokane County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Lindholm starred in the sixth episode of the latest season of David Lynch's show. Mitchell said their interactions with Lindholm were always "consistently professional".
