Toilet: Ek Prem Katha First day box office collections

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha finally released yesterday and it has had its fair share of buzz generated among the crowds. Released in over 3000 screens in India, Toilet Ek Prem Katha witnessed 30-35 per cent occupancy on the first day. As the film based on a social cause released in theatres worldwide this Friday, reports suggest that it has had a decent opening. Sat and Sun look better.


The film follows the story of a newly Wednesday couple played by Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar who live in a small town. "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" is among 2017's highest opening day box-office grossers and is also among the few films to cross the 10-crore mark on the first day. Rustom had a good first day of around 14 crore net (140 million), the comedy oriented film Housefull 3 had made it to around Rs. 15.50 crore net (155 million) at the Box Office on day one. The film is starred with Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Anupam Kher and Divyen Sharma in the lead roles. Released across 3200 screens all over the India, the numbers are expected to rise with the extended Independence Day weekend coming up. Akshay Kumar's previous film 'Jolly LLB 2' had entered 50 crore club in initial three days.


Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a story of a newly married couple, where the wife, disgusted by the open-defecation culture, lashes out and runs away from her husband's house. Several Bollywood celebs such as Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and Varun Johar lauded the Shree Narayan Singh film.
